New Deal for Musicians offers you one-to-one and group meetings with a Music Industry Mentor, chosen from a group of successful, professional Scots currently working in the music industry; musicians and songwriters, artist managers, A&R executives, promoters, label owners, press and PR specialists, DJs and producers. Your MIM will give you support, practical help and up-to-date information and will advise you about how best to go about achieving your career ambitions.

You can also access a series of Open Learning Materials, available online, covering such topics as Creating, Performing, Teaching, Marketing, Distribution and Legal issues. These can be completed in your own time at home, coupled with tailored advice from industry specialists, and the chance to meet like-minded people.

In addition if you want to investigate the possibility of self-employment you can access specialist help with business plans and cashflow, funding applications, and the chance to research your markets whilst retaining your benefits as a safety net. NDfM also gives you the possibility of attending Industry Insights with specialist advice and a closer look at the workings of the music industry.
